美国研究型大学学系的改革:背景、实践及启示

摘要(Abstract):

作为一类典型的基层学术组织,学系的诞生是多重力量共同交织的结果。二战之后,美国高等教育内外部环境发生了巨大的变化,研究型大学组织中的传统学系面临着学科藩篱、实践脱节、孤立主义等诸多挑战。为了突破发展的瓶颈,美国研究型大学对传统学系实施了改革,主要包括鼓励"纯粹学系"与"混合学系"的融合,重视学系在社会实践中的应用,实施学系的对外开放战略等。在"双一流"建设背景下,我国研究型大学应重视学术组织的创新,优化学系组织结构,鼓励学科之间的交叉与融合。
As a kind of typical grassroots academic organization,the establishment of department in American university is the result of multiple intertwining forces. After the World War II,the internal and external environment of American higher education has undergone tremendous changes. The traditional departments in American research universities faced many challenges such as barriers between disciplines,disconnection with practice,and isolationism. In order to break through the bottleneck of development,the traditional departments in American research universities has undergone a series of reform,it mainly includes:encouraging the integration of "pure department" and "mixed department",attaching importance to the application of the department in social practice,and implementing the opening strategy of the department. Under the background of "double worldclass" construction,Chinese research universities should pay attention to the innovation of academic organizations,optimize the organizational structure of the department,and encourage the integration between disciplines.
